CSV Export for Reports

Reports now export to CSV — one click, the whole dataset, ready for the spreadsheet or warehouse of your choice.

Every analytics dashboard eventually runs into the same wall: the chart in front of you isn't the question you actually need to answer. Maybe finance wants to pivot revenue by a dimension we don't surface. Maybe an analyst wants to join the data against something in the warehouse. Maybe someone just wants to paste numbers into a board deck. Whatever the reason, the dashboard is the start of the conversation, not the end.

That's why we shipped CSV export for reports Export a Report to CSV.

Why CSV, and why now

We debated fancier options — direct warehouse syncs, a richer API, scheduled email digests. All of those are still on the table. But every one of them is a project, and every one of them assumes we know what you're going to do with the data. CSV doesn't assume anything. It opens in Excel, in Google Sheets, in pandas, in DuckDB, in whatever the analyst on the other end happens to prefer. It's the lowest-friction way to get the numbers off our dashboard and into your workflow.

It also unblocks the most common request we hear: "can I get this as a spreadsheet?" Until now, the honest answer was screenshots and copy-paste. That's a bad answer. A one-click download is a much better one Export a Report to CSV.

Designed to get out of the way

The interaction is deliberately boring. Open a report, hit the CSV button in the toolbar, and the file downloads Export a Report to CSV. No modal asking you to pick columns. No email-it-to-me flow. No "your export is being prepared." If you can see the report, you can have the data behind it.

We think exports should feel like a primitive, not a feature. You shouldn't have to think about whether something is exportable, and you shouldn't have to plan around it. It's just there, next to the report, every time.

What's next

CSV is the floor, not the ceiling. The same plumbing that powers a one-click download is what we'll build on for scheduled exports, programmatic access, and richer formats for teams that need them. If you've been waiting to pull report data into your own tools, you don't have to wait anymore — and if you have opinions about where exports should go next, we want to hear them.
